Are You Going Through Change?
Scripture Reading:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Devotional
Change is a constant in life. It can come in many forms—moving to a new city, starting a new job, ending a relationship, or welcoming a new family member. While some changes are exciting, others can be daunting and filled with uncertainty. In these moments, fear often tries to take hold, whispering that the unknown is dangerous and that staying in the comfort of the familiar is safer.
However, as believers, we are called to trust in God’s plan for our lives, even when it leads us down unfamiliar paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not rely on our own understanding. This passage reassures us that if we submit to God and follow His guidance, He will make our paths straight. This is a powerful reminder that God is in control, and His intentions for us are always rooted in His perfect love and wisdom.
When we face change, it’s natural to feel anxious or afraid. But faith is about trusting God even when we can’t see the full picture. Abraham, the father of faith, left his homeland and everything familiar to follow God’s call (Genesis 12:1-4). He didn’t know where he was going, but he trusted God’s promise and took that leap of faith. His story teaches us that faith often requires stepping into the unknown, believing that God’s guidance will lead us to a place of blessing.
God’s promises are trustworthy, and His faithfulness is unwavering. When we place our trust in Him, we can find peace in the midst of change. Instead of fearing the unknown, we can embrace it, knowing that God is with us every step of the way. He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8).
